Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme at Peterborough City Hospital. The successful candidate will oversee a dedicated team of hearing screeners and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the programme.

Main Responsibilities

The programme lead will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Newborn Hearing Screening team
  • Ensuring the smooth operation and organisation of daily work planning for the screening team
  • Collating and reporting on standards pertaining to the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme
  • Providing professional leadership and guidance to the team

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong management background and a passion for newborn hearing screening. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a 50% clinical and 50% managerial shift pattern, with flexibility and support for the needs of the service at all times.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Recognised teaching/mentoring qualification with evidence of teaching experience
  • NNEB/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent or relevant experience
  • Understanding of the importance of early intervention in childcare and newborn hearing screening
  • Knowledge of the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme
