About the Opportunity:
Stratford District Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Waste Minimisation Officer to join our team.
This part-time (20 hours per week) position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in reducing waste and promoting sustainability in our community.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency, and promote environmentally friendly practices.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Reduce waste sent to landfill by 10% within the first year
- Implement a recycling program for organic waste
- Develop a plan to increase energy efficiency in council operations
Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Science or related field
- Relevant work experience in waste management
- Excellent communication and project management skills
Estimated Salary: NZD $75,000 - $100,000 per annum
