Advanced Care Practitioner/Paramedic Specialist

Framlingham Surgery is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paramedic to join our team as an Advanced Care Practitioner/Paramedic. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking practice, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our on-the-day emergency patient service.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and triage patients, including same-day triage, and provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the primary care team.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) within Framlingham Surgery, collaborating with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver person-centered care.
- Provide specialist health checks and undertake QOF investigations within their scope of practice and in line with local and national guidance.
- Perform and interpret ECGs, and undertake the collection of pathological specimens, including intravenous blood samples, swabs, and other samples within their scope of practice and in line with local and national guidance.
- Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans and lead certain services, such as monitoring blood pressure and diabetes risk in elderly patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and carers, providing complex and sensitive information regarding their physical health needs, results, findings, and treatment choices.
We are looking for a Paramedic with:
- A degree in paramedicine or equivalent experience.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council as a paramedic.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Minor Injury/Illness and Prescribing (V300).
- At least 5 years of post-Paramedicine Degree experience, with experience in triage, dealing with a range of clinical conditions, and working in a GP Practice or primary care setting.
Framlingham Surgery is a well-established Dispensing General Practice with a list size of just under 10,000 patients. We are a forward-thinking practice continually exploring new areas to develop and benefit our patients. Our clinical team consists of 4 GP partners, a salaried GP, a clinical pharmacist, 2 paramedics, an advanced nurse practitioner, 3 practice nurses, a nurse associate, 2 healthcare assistants, and a Phlebotomist. We are proud of our association with the University of Cambridge and the University of East Anglia, and we take 2 final-year student cohorts from both universities, giving them General Practice experience.
