Job Title: Transport Operator Nights

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a Transport Operator, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day running of our busy depot in Cullompton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coordination of transport operations, including dispatch debrief and work in progress for chilled and ambient operations.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure smooth operation and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Manage and debrief drivers, ensuring they are equipped to handle their routes efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, responding to queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in the production of KPIs and daily statistics, providing valuable insights to improve operations.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role, with a good working knowledge of traffic management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact with customers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the local area, with the ability to navigate efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering results.
  • Flexible approach to work, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of collaboration.
  • Proficiency in MS packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
