Transport Operator Nights Job Description
Gregory Distribution is seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team in Cullompton. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day running of our depot, ensuring the smooth delivery of goods to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and coordination of transport operations, including dispatch debrief and work in progress for chilled and ambient operations.
- Work closely with customers to ensure the smooth running of operations.
- Manage and debrief drivers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to complete their tasks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the production of key performance indicators (KPIs) and daily statistics, providing insights and recommendations to improve operations.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in a similar role, with a good working knowledge of traffic management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the local area, with the ability to navigate and optimize routes.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a solution-driven approach, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Proficiency in MS packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
