Transport Operator Nights Job Description

Gregory Distribution is seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team in Cullompton. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day running of our depot, ensuring the smooth delivery of goods to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coordination of transport operations, including dispatch debrief and work in progress for chilled and ambient operations.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure the smooth running of operations.
  • Manage and debrief drivers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to complete their tasks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in the production of KPIs and daily statistics, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in a similar role, with a good working knowledge of traffic management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work at all levels.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the local area, with the ability to navigate complex routes and schedules.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible approach to work, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with a collaborative and supportive approach to achieving business objectives.
