Job Title: Transport Operator Nights

Gregory Distribution is seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team on a night shift basis. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our depot in Cullompton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and coordination of day-to-day transport operations, including dispatch debriefs and work-in-progress management for chilled and ambient operations.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure the smooth operation of the depot as a whole.
  • Manage and debrief drivers, ensuring they are equipped to handle the demands of the night shift.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in the production of key performance indicators (KPIs) and daily statistics, providing valuable insights to inform operational decisions.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role, with a good working knowledge of traffic management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues and customers at all levels.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the local area, with the ability to navigate complex transportation networks.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a flexible approach to meeting deadlines and adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Strong team player, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficiency in MS packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
