About the Role

Booker Limited is seeking a skilled External Communications Co-ordinator to join our Media & Communications team. This full-time position will be based out of our head office in Wellingborough, with hybrid-working options available.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, developing, and delivering an external communications plan that supports the business' agenda and engages the audience. This will involve helping to protect and elevate Booker Limited's reputation within the market, primarily through consistent messages and tone.

Main Responsibilities

Developing and implementing an external communications strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
Creating and disseminating engaging external press releases, selling in positive news stories, and supporting trade press and re-purposing internal feature stories for local media.
Monitoring media enquiries, responding to requests from journalists and other stakeholders, and maintaining a professional online presence.
Coordinating entries for national and trade awards, managing sponsorship requirements, and relevant administration.
Managing customer magazines, including coordinating features and photography with an external agency.
Identifying opportunities for positive stories by working cross-functionally with internal teams.

You Will Need

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong writing skills, with evidence to support.
Ability to work independently and problem-solve, with excellent attention to detail.
Experience in managing deadlines and changing priorities, with innovative and conceptual thinking.
Compliance with all business legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements.
Previous experience in a similar role, a background in communications or PR, and experience in developing and managing communications campaigns.
Stakeholder management experience.
