We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at Supply Desk. As a key member of our educational support team, you will play a vital role in supporting classroom teaching and learning activities.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading small group instruction under the guidance of teachers
  • Assisting in planning and preparing lessons and learning resources
  • Supporting the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting materials as needed
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance
  • Assisting in assessing student progress and maintaining records of achievement
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting in the supervision of students during break times and outings
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
  • Participating in professional development and training opportunities
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized HLTA qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role in an educational setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively lead small group activities and provide guidance to other support staff
  • Understanding of curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of the classroom
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students of diverse abilities
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
