About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join our team at a Special School in Southend-on-Sea. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver tailored lessons to meet the needs of SEND students, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to create a supportive and structured classroom environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed to ensure individualized learning plans are effective.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Liaise with parents and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students, promoting a collaborative approach to education.
Requirements
  • Previous experience teaching SEND students is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEND teaching strategies and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedication to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is required.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
