About the Role

M Group Services is seeking a highly skilled SHEQ Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Develop and implement a plan, do, review approach for SHEQ provisions, administer, support, and maintain systems across our operations to drive a positive, embedded culture and achieve targets under our Safety First, Safety Always banner.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Coordinate the monthly and annual SHEQ reporting returns to the Senior Health and Safety Manager and ensure that corrective actions are implemented for any underperformance.
  • Customer Focus: Provide a high-quality, customer-focused service that is responsive to customer needs.
  • Audit and Compliance: Take responsibility for the coordination and compliance for all audits, planning and undertaking audits, working with auditors to identify internal controls, and working with senior management to provide corrective actions for any non-conformity and closing out the audit.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer groups and key internal stakeholders.
  • Professional Development: Future-proof yourself and M Group Services through a robust Continuous Professional Development plan.
  • Issue Escalation: Escalate issues to the Senior Health and Safety Manager concerning situations that could lead to legal sanctions or prosecution by enforcing authorities.
  • Compensation and Rehabilitation: Ensure appropriate management of compensation liability and workplace rehabilitation cases.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate and provide remediation and corrective actions for all near misses, incidents, accidents, and unsafe working practices occurring across our operations, ensuring all incident reports are adequately completed and filed.
  • Compliance and Certification: Plan and implement a schedule of inspections and audits to ensure our operations comply with ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO9001 standards and other M Group standards.
  • Hazard Identification: Inform the line manager of any potential hazards and risks.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: ISO45001 & or 14001 HSE auditor experience or qualification, NEBOSH National Certificate.
  • Skills: Ability to build working relationships with customers and colleagues, work with colleagues to achieve team goals, plan own workload and schedule, take ownership of customer requests and issues, and ensure the right equipment and resources are available to do the job.
  • Desirable: Graduate Member Grad IOSH or Chartered Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH), Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent, NEBOSH National Certificate/Diploma in Environmental Management.
