About the Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Food Preparation Specialist at RAF Leeming, Junior Ranks Mess. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for managing the preparation and production of food to ensure minimal wastage and high levels of taste and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cooking and preparing food ready for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, ensuring minimal wastage.
  • Following recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve a range of meals.
  • Assisting with deliveries and stock checks, placing food orders, and maintaining kitchen records.
  • Monitoring and recording temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries, completing daily paperwork to cover due diligence.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Food hygiene certificate level 2 or willing to work towards it on our e-learning platform.
  • Relevant culinary qualification is desirable, but there is an opportunity to gain a qualification while earning.
  • Previous experience of working in a kitchen.
  • Proficient level of spoken English.
  • Security clearance and a DBS check are required.

About Our Benefits

As a member of our team, you will receive a competitive salary of £12.00/hour, working 40 hours per week, with shifts ranging from 07:00 to 20:30, Monday to Friday, and 1 in 4 weekends.
