Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at Jonathan Lee Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of solutions to technical issues and supporting technical changes to existing company products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of solutions to technical issues as a member of an integrated project team, reporting to Technical Leads and directly to the customer.
- Develop design solutions based on customer requirements, validating, and verifying through the design process.
- Review and check design work and technical reports, providing help and direction to less experienced engineers.
- Carrying out technical analysis and investigations and preparing reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
- Planning, delivering, and monitoring assigned projects or work packages, ensuring that requirements are delivered to plan.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, or a high level of experience within an engineering environment, whilst having experience writing and reviewing technical reports and specifications.
- Design experience in a production and/or prototyping environment, finite element analysis (FEA) software to perform structural/stress analysis, and product data management (PDM) tools to configuration manage data.
- Working knowledge of technical office processes, standards, and standard instructions.
- Experience with the full Product and Engineering Life Cycle.
- Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Working experience with CAD software (CREO or Similar) & PLM software (Teamcenter or similar).
- Able to achieve BPSS Security Clearance and SC Clearance in the Future due to the Products and Systems that will be involved.
