Job Title - Trainee Media Sales Executive

Salary - £26,500 basic + uncapped commission - in the region of 35k OTE

Location - Hammersmith, London - 3 days in office and 2 days working from home

Selling both Print and Digital Advertising for a unique market leading Consumer Magazine. Trainee Media Sales Vacancy Spec

My client is the leading self-build magazine in the UK. It is targeted at consumers who are seeking to create their dream home either via a new build or a major renovation. The dynamics of the market are such that although it is a consumer brand, the readers have spending power more commonly seen in B2B media.

The company has invested heavily in the product and the staff, resulting in recent years in the magazine moving from 3rd to 1st place in regards to its ABC circulation figure.

As part of a customer-focused approach, advertising sales are now being made on a platform-neutral basis, allowing customers to buy print and digital packages from the same sales contact. They are looking for an energetic and highly motivated account executive to join its sales team. The primary focus of the role will be selling classified advertising solutions both in print and online to existing and new customers.

As the candidate's experience grows, they will be able to sell packages across the portfolio of print, digital, and events. Sales experience is not essential but would be an advantage. This role reports to the Sales Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business from chosen sectors primarily via telephone, but also via email and face-to-face interactions.
  • Sell Classified, IN FOCUS, email promotions, and web advertising.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the sales and editorial teams to enhance the brand.
  • Help maintain the classified ad list for Build and its direct competitors.
