We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a welcoming Secondary School in York. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a supportive team, making a meaningful difference in the lives of students who require extra support.

About the Role

This is a full-time term-time only SEMH Teaching Assistant position, ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting. You will work alongside qualified SEMH professionals, Specialist Teachers, and Educational Psychologists, supporting students 1:1 and through intervention sessions.

  • This role involves helping students navigate challenges, ensuring they have a safe learning environment, and assisting them in their learning and development.
  • You will work closely with the school's leadership team to develop and implement strategies that promote student wellbeing and academic success.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, with a passion for supporting children's wellbeing. They will have a minimum of a 2:1 Psychology-related degree from a Top 20 University and relevant experience working with children with SEN or SEMH.

The salary for this role is £22,575 - £25,400 per annum (pro-rata), paid weekly on a PAYE basis.

The ideal location offers easy access to public transport, making it an attractive option for those living in North Yorkshire.
