The University of Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced External Communications Manager to join its Digital Content and Communications Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and flawless copy for various channels, working with the media, and developing a strong understanding of the University's research projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote the University's research and academic excellence.
- Collaborate with the media to secure press coverage and feature stories.
- Write and edit high-quality content for various channels, including website, social media, and print materials.
- Work closely with the Digital Content and Communications Team to ensure consistency and quality of content across all channels.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage to identify trends and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academics, researchers, and external partners.
Requirements
- Relevant degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience in external communications, content creation, and media relations.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt to different styles and formats.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
