The Role: Cloud Systems Engineer

We seek a skilled and innovative Cloud Systems Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions that align with business needs and objectives. A strong understanding of cloud platforms, such as AWS, and experience in automation, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud security are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in designing, deploying, and implementing infrastructure technologies.
  • Provide 3rd Line technical support for the business, Desktop support functions, and escalated tickets.
  • Deploy, manage, and respond to Infrastructure/Platform Monitoring alerts.
  • Update/Patch, and other BAU tasks for server and networking infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with another cloud systems engineer, the IT Security team, and external technical resources to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure solutions.
What Success Looks Like
  • Ensuring clear updates on tickets as well as fast resolution.
  • Continuously improving technical knowledge, whether in AWS, Azure, or alternative DevOps tools.
  • Assisting with training and supporting junior members of the team on improving their technical knowledge.
  • Identifying and solving issues proactively and collaboratively.
  • Maintaining high levels of stability and availability for managed systems.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience working with AWS is essential.
  • Effective troubleshooting methodology.
  • Solid technical understanding of cloud-native design and best practices, including PaaS and IaaS services.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
