Physiotherapy Support Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physiotherapy Support Worker to join our dynamic team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our physiotherapy team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the rehabilitation of patients with medical, surgical, and orthopaedic conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of the physiotherapy team to provide quality therapeutic care through the delivery of specified assessment and treatment programmes to a limited patient group, as directed by the senior therapist.
- Assist physiotherapists and senior assistants to assess range of movement, muscle power, sensation, sitting and standing balance, and transfer abilities.
- Monitor patients during treatment and progress the treatment plan following consultation with a physiotherapist or senior assistant.
- Deliver specified treatments with empathy under the management of a physiotherapist.
- Prepare patients for treatment, including undressing, removal of splints, and toileting.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous treatment records, including valid consent to interventions.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Work experience or observation of working in a health or social care setting.
- 5 GCSEs (grades 9-4 or A*, A, B, C), or equivalent level 2 qualification(s) and Functional Skills (level 2), or a level 2 apprenticeship, such as the Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship.
- Effective and appropriate written communication skills.
- Computer Literate.
- Basic understanding of physiotherapy.
- Health and Safety awareness.
- Effective and appropriate verbal communication skills.
