Established in the heart of Kelly Bray, Lw Transport Solutions (Plymouth) Ltd is a thriving workshop seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our close-knit team. With flexible employment or self-employment contracts available, this role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to diagnose and repair various vehicles and machinery, primarily HGVs and trailers. Flexible working hours, ranging from 1 to 6 days per week, are on offer, accompanied by overtime opportunities and occasional call-outs. A company vehicle will be provided for such occasions.

We also welcome applications from trainee/apprentice mechanics looking to hone their skills under the guidance of our experienced team.

Salary

  • Ranging between £10,000 to £60,000 annually, depending on the number of hours worked

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake repairs, and tyre rotations.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology or mechanics are advantageous (IRTEC or similar preferred).
  • A valid HGV driving licence is preferred but not essential.
