Procurement Officer Job Description

Alfanar Projects is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join our team on a contract basis at our site in Teesside. This role is providing cover whilst a team member is away, with a project length of around 2-3 months.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure necessary goods and services from suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and correct quantity and specification.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure procurement activities meet operational demand at all times.
  • Monitor suppliers' performance, quality control, and manage materials and equipment entering and leaving site.
  • Prepare documentation, including expenses sheets and supporting invoices, for submission to the accounts team.
  • Coordinate with the accounts department for purchasing-related activities and conduct market research, supplier evaluation, selection, and registration.
  • Maintain site procurement plans and records, including POs and supporting documents.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards and processes in purchasing and procurement.
  • Responsible for maintaining audit documentation.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in O&G, renewables, construction, or heavy engineering.
  • SAP experience.
  • Good understanding of business agreements, contract terms, and conditions.
  • MRP/ERP knowledge.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and high drive.
  • Comfortable with change and working under time pressure.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
