As a Materials Acquisition Specialist - Sustainable Procurement Leader, you will play a key role in supporting production by procuring high-quality raw materials and managing a significant annual spend.

The company is committed to reducing its environmental impact and is seeking a talented Materials Acquisition Specialist - Sustainable Procurement Leader to join its Supply Chain team.

Job Description

This role is ideal for an experienced Materials Buyer who has a proven track record of managing large budgets and building strong supplier relationships. As a Materials Acquisition Specialist - Sustainable Procurement Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Procurement Management: Handling the supply chain for key raw materials, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and resolving any issues with suppliers.
  • Managing a Large Spend: Overseeing an annual spend of £10m+, ensuring the business gets good value without compromising on quality.
  • Supplier Relationships: Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, ensuring materials are delivered on time and to the right standard.
  • Stock Planning: Planning and scheduling material deliveries to meet production timelines, avoiding any delays.
  • Market Monitoring: Keeping an eye on market prices to make informed purchasing decisions and avoid unnecessary cost increases.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all purchases meet the necessary health, safety, and environmental standards, working closely with internal teams to maintain high standards.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing procurement and be able to independently manage a large spend. The ideal candidate will also have excellent negotiation skills, the ability to liaise with people at all levels, and a proven track record of building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Requirements
  • Industry Experience: At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing procurement, with a proven track record of managing large budgets.
  • Negotiation Skills: The ability to negotiate contracts and resolve issues with suppliers.
