Our client specializes in designing, constructing, and operating 'White Label' data centers for global clients, primarily serving IT service providers, telecommunications companies, and financial services clients. Their goal is to seamlessly integrate into their customers' businesses, supporting their expansion into new markets and locations.

Job Description:

As a Data Centre Shift Leader / Shift Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the uptime, availability, and reliability of our data center operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing maintenance activities within the data center environment, ensuring they meet and exceed defined SLAs and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment and systems under a rigorous change management system to achieve 100% uptime availability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot all site/plant equipment support systems, handling incidents, problems, changes, monitoring, escalation, notification, and resolution.
  • Manage mechanical and electrical plant and systems, including HVAC systems, generators, UPS, fire alarms, suppression systems, low and high voltage switching, water systems, and associated equipment.
  • Coordinate sub-contracted resources as needed to deliver safe and quality service.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • X forces Engineering Qualification and experience.
  • High-Pressure Precision Engineering experience.
  • HND in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent (desirable).
  • Background in a Critical Environment / Data Centre (desirable).
  • Professional electrical or mechanical certification (National Craft Certificate, Registered Electrical/Mechanical Contractor, or equivalent).
  • Experience in troubleshooting/repair of low & medium voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting/repair of mechanical/HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply safe electrical practices according to guidelines/regulations.

Candidate Attributes and Characteristics:

  • Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving complex issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Ability to follow procedures, system documentation, and track issues through appropriate entries into a Service Desk Ticketing system.
