Job Overview

BeeU Children and Young People's Mental Health Service is seeking an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Learning Disability team. The successful candidate will provide support to young people presenting with behaviours of concern and/or mental health needs, as well as their families.

The role will also involve collaborating with the Intensive Support Team to work with children and young people with a Learning Disability and/or Autism, who pose significant risks to themselves or others.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly motivated and committed multi-disciplinary team, working alongside other psychologists, LD nurses, OT, SLT, and support workers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological assessment for young people referred to the service, using appropriate assessment tools and delivering intervention with young people, their families, and carers.
  • Work with colleagues across the BeeU service to offer consultation and support around psychological formulation.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service policies and procedures.
