Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Shop Team Leader to join our team at New Appointments Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading the machine shop team to produce high-quality small batch, special, and prototype items.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Set a positive example and provide guidance to the machine shop team, ensuring maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • CNC Operations: Program, set up, and operate Manual and CNC Mills and Lathes, and guide and train others on their usage.
  • Work Package Management: Generate work packages using the ERP system and oversee their progress throughout the shop.
  • Team Performance Monitoring: Conduct Daily Start-Up Meetings, assign tasks to the team, and ensure they meet the production plan's demands.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and report on the team's performance, measuring and documenting relevant metrics to support KPIs.
  • Employee Development: Conduct employee appraisals and evaluations, guaranteeing the team possesses the necessary skills through training and development.
  • Process Improvement: Introduce best practices to boost production efficiency, capacity, quality, and dependability, and foster a culture of ongoing improvement.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Experience: Essential experience in manufacturing machined components in a small batch or prototype setting.
  • Team Leadership Background: Proven team leadership background, effective communication skills, and the ability to interpret exploded drawings and follow written instructions and route cards.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Proficiency in modern manufacturing methods and exposure to LEAN manufacturing practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with continuous improvement principles.
