Role Summary:
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the machine shop team responsible for the production of small batch, specialized, and prototype items. Your leadership will ensure optimal utilization of resources through effective management of CNC Setters and Operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exemplary leadership and guidance to the machine shop team.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes, serving as a mentor and trainer.
- Operate manual lathes and mills, offering mentorship and training on their operation.
- Monitor team performance and report on operational metrics.
- Measure and document relevant metrics to support key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement actions for performance enhancement.
- Ensure the workforce possesses the necessary skills through training and development, fostering motivation and performance.
- Implement best practices to enhance production throughput, capacity, quality, and reliability.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement utilizing tools and techniques such as lean manufacturing and 5S.
- Act as a CNC Setter/Operator, manufacturing products in alignment with business requirements.
- Demonstrate experience in the production of machined components in a small batch or prototype setting.
- Exhibit proficiency in programming and setting a variety of CNC mills and lathes.
- Possess the ability to operate manual lathes and mills.
- Maintain high-quality standards with tight tolerances.
- Have knowledge of contemporary manufacturing methods and lean manufacturing techniques.
- A valid driving license and passport are required.
