Learning Support Assistant

At Townsville Catholic Education, we are seeking highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and classroom activities of students, including those with additional needs.
About the RoleWe are looking for two enthusiastic and experienced individuals to commence on 20 January 2025. These permanent, term-time positions offer a competitive hourly rate and a range of benefits.
- School Officer (ASL) - 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
- School Officer (ASL) - 22 hours per week (Monday to Thursday)
The successful candidates will work under the direction and supervision of a teacher to provide learning and classroom support to all students. This may include providing individualized support, scribing, reading, and assisting students with specific learning needs.
Key Responsibilities- Providing support to individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to participate in learning and school activities
- Assisting students with specific learning needs, including scribing, reading, and providing feedback and observations to the classroom teacher(s)
- Reinforcing appropriate student behavior and promoting engagement in learning activities
- Providing practical assistance to students in using classroom technology
- Performing administrative tasks, such as record maintenance and resource production
- Maintaining a clean and tidy classroom environment
- Providing routine support to students with physical needs and personal care
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card
- Current Driver's License
- Able to travel within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville from time to time
- Able to perform the physical requirements of the role safely
- Cert III in School Based Education Support or equivalent
- Competitive Hourly Rate: $60-$80 per hour
