Commercial Manager

Key Responsibilities- Provide business advice and guidance to ensure effective management of contract solicitations, negotiations, and contract terms.
- Serve as an authorised representative for the Company, interfacing with Customer buying representatives to build effective relationships and manage contracts.
- Coordinate solutions to contractual issues and Customer concerns related to Company performance.
- Ensure contractual compliance with all laws and regulations, and adherence to Delegation of Authority and approval requirements for proposals and contractual actions.
- Lead and support audits, as appropriate, with internal and external audit teams and agencies to support contract-related activities and verify compliance.
- Contract Management experience in the UK defence environment, particularly on complex defence bids.
- Confidence in reviewing sets of terms and conditions, negotiating with customers independently.
- Knowledge of Contract Management and advanced Contracting techniques/tools.
- Highly motivated with a proven record of negotiating a strong position for the business.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced Contracts and Bid team environment.
- Experience of working with DEFCONS.
- Capacity to operate to tight schedules in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks and effective issue resolution.
- Good presentation skills.
- Confidence presenting to various levels of organisation.
- Flexibility to travel as required (UK and abroad).
- UK Citizenship; Current SC clearance or ability to achieve.
- Bid writing.
- Experience of working on Framework Agreements.
- CIPS qualification (good, but not essential).
- World Commerce and Contracting Advanced Practitioner (desirable, but not essential).
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
- Considered an emerging specialist.
