Job Title: Speech and Language 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant in a well-regarded Primary School in Ealing. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a school setting and support a student who is deaf.

About the Role:
  • Provide personalized 1:1 support to a student who is deaf, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
  • Implement tailored communication strategies, including the use of sign language or other relevant tools, to facilitate effective learning and interaction.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, the SEN team, and external professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that meet the student's specific needs.
  • Monitor the student's progress, adapting support strategies as necessary, and ensure their well-being and inclusion within the school community.
  • Support the development of the student's social, emotional, and academic skills, fostering their confidence and independence.
Requirements:
  • A background in Speech and Language Therapy or relevant experience working with children who are deaf or have hearing impairments.
  • Proficiency in sign language (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with the student and collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping the student achieve their full potential.
