Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Officer to join our team in Dumfries and Galloway. As a key member of our Children and Families Social Work Services team, you will play a critical role in delivering a trauma-sensitive, rights-based, and recovery-focused response to the care, protection, justice, and recovery needs of children and young people.
The Bairns Hoose is a pioneering initiative that brings together Police, Social Work, Health, Court, and recovery support services under one roof. As a Development Officer, you will work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to project manage and support the implementation of this innovative model.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the transformation of children's lives in Scotland. You will have a good working knowledge of national improvement projects and initiatives, quality and improvement techniques, and project and programme management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage the implementation of the Bairns Hoose model in Dumfries and Galloway
- Work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver a trauma-sensitive, rights-based, and recovery-focused response to children's needs
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Police, Social Work, Health, and Court services
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to support the implementation of the Bairns Hoose model
Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of national improvement projects and initiatives
- Quality and improvement techniques, and project and programme management systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
