Residential Childcare Worker Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build trusting and supportive relationships with children and young people in your care.
  • Assist in the day-to-day care of children, ensuring their safety, and promoting a structured routine.
  • Plan and participate in engaging recreational and educational activities.
  • Encourage educational attainment and provide educational support where necessary.
  • Facilitate workshops, group activities, and life skills sessions to promote personal development, social skills, and decision-making abilities.
  • Collaborate with other team members and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to the young person's care.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and any concerns.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing residential childcare.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a care setting with young people in the UK.
  • Knowledge of cognitive behavioural approaches, attachment theory, and child protection policy.
  • Ability to demonstrate how your lived experiences have informed your approach to care.
  • Experience advocating on behalf of a young person.
  • Registration under the PVG scheme.
  • Full driving license.
  • Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
