At Genesis Living Ltd, we are seeking an exceptional Property and Maintenance Manager to join our team. This role is a vital part of ensuring the safety, comfort, and functionality of our accommodation facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep tasks, as well as managing relationships with contractors and suppliers. They will also play a crucial role in maintaining a high standard of living for the vulnerable individuals we support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the exterior of our properties are well-maintained, including gardening, painting, general tidiness, and basic repairs.
  • Carrying out internal decorating and general repairs to a high standard.
  • Supervising external contractors when required to ensure work is completed to our standards.
  • Responding to emergency maintenance situations promptly, such as boarding up windows, replacing locks, etc.
  • Assisting operational staff with tasks like moving furniture when needed.
  • Prioritizing and completing maintenance requests within given timescales.
  • Maintaining company-provided tools and ensuring inventory is up-to-date.
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors to source materials and services.
  • Communicating effectively with Service Managers and team leaders to manage maintenance requests and ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations, including asbestos, fire safety, and legionella awareness.

Requirements:

  • Experience and practical skills in property maintenance and Health and Safety.
  • Experience working in a building maintenance or caretaking role with DIY skills.
  • Trade background and experience repairing school, office or residential buildings would be desirable, although not essential.
  • Experience working in a similar organisation or with young people with complex needs would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with tenants and contractors.
