Product Line Manager - Strategic Optics

Edmund Optics is a leading manufacturer and supplier of optics, imaging, and photonics technology. As a Product Line Manager - Strategic Optics, you will play a key role in driving the company's growth and success in the European market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a product strategy that aligns with Edmund Optics' technological vision and core competencies. This will involve gathering market and application information from customers, selecting new products and custom capabilities, and defining an end-of-life strategy for underperforming products.

You will work closely with other functional areas, including manufacturing, marketing, R&D, sales, applications engineering, and design engineering to develop objectives, presentations, and financial proposals for new product initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with Edmund Optics' technological vision and core competencies.
  • Gather market and application information from customers to inform product development.
  • Select new products and custom capabilities to drive business growth.
  • Define an end-of-life strategy for underperforming products.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop objectives, presentations, and financial proposals for new product initiatives.
Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, and two years of experience in application engineering, manufacturing engineering, product line engineering, and/or managing products in the optics field.

Strong optics product, manufacturing, and technology knowledge is essential, as is a high level of personal initiative, strong analytical skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with the ability to motivate and train people, and will be comfortable with a heavy workload of multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
