About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team at EVEREC. As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of control systems for Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) electric vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Model-Based Software: Utilize Simulink to design and develop model-based software for control systems.
  • Implement and Optimize Testing Frameworks: Implement and optimize testing frameworks, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) testing.
  • Address Engineering Challenges: Utilize first principles to address and resolve engineering challenges related to control systems.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate control systems into electric powertrains and automotive chassis.
  • Perform Hands-On Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting to ensure control systems meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Translate Complex Engineering Issues: Translate complex engineering issues into straightforward, effective solutions.

Requirements:

  • Experience in ECU Calibration: Experience in ECU calibration for automotive applications.
  • Proficiency with CAN Bus Tools: Proficiency with CAN Bus tools such as Vector CANalyzer for system interrogation and stimulation.
  • Expertise in Developing Plant Models: Expertise in developing and correlating plant models with real-world components for HIL and MIL testing.
  • Strong Grasp of Control Theory: Strong grasp of control theory.
  • Preferable Experience in Oscilloscope Use: Preferable experience in using oscilloscopes for troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Software Version Control: Familiarity with software version control and comprehensive documentation practices.
  • Understanding of Control Hardware: Understanding of control hardware, CAN topology, and wiring systems.
  • Good Understanding of Mechanical Systems: Good understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of High-Voltage Systems: Knowledge of high-voltage systems and architectures is advantageous.
  • Ability to Devise Simple Solutions: Ability to devise simple, practical solutions without overcomplicating problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At Least 5 Years of Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in the automotive sector.
  • Proven Experience in Control Systems Development: Proven experience in the development and testing of control systems for electric vehicles.
  • Authorization to Work in the UK: Authorization to work in the UK.
