Senior Quantity Surveyor

Contract Type: 5+ years project duration
Rate: £550-£600 per day (Inside IR35)
Project Overview:
A major infrastructure project, the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Project QS to oversee the installation and construction of major structures, including bridges, ensuring effective financial control and contract management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Subcontractor Procurement: Identify, negotiate, and procure subcontractors for various project works.
- Subcontractor Management: Manage the performance and contractual obligations of subcontractors throughout the construction phase.
- Cost and Value Reporting (CVR): Conduct regular CVR reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of project costs and value.
- Change Management: Implement and manage change control processes, ensuring all variations are accounted for and communicated effectively.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and support to junior members of the commercial team.
- Project Delivery: Ensure the successful financial delivery of large-scale structures (bridges) in line with project milestones.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in quantity surveying on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement and management.
- Familiarity with cost and value reporting (CVR) and change management.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to support and mentor junior team members.
- Experience in large structures (e.g., bridges) is desirable.
