About the Role

Climax Studios, a renowned game development studio, is seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Gameplay Systems Designer to join their award-winning team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major AAA console title, collaborating with a team of passionate and highly experienced designers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and take ownership of core gameplay systems, ensuring they meet the project's vision and quality standards.
  • Work closely with the team and stakeholders to deliver compelling and memorable moment-to-moment gameplay.
  • Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation for all features, adhering to best practices and methodologies.
  • Participate in level reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Regularly play the game, offering insights and ideas to enhance the overall gaming experience.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Gameplay Systems Designer, creating features and mechanics on at least one published AAA console title.
  • Expertise in Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprinting.
  • Experience with player movement, abilities, and weapons, cameras, and exploration mechanics.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype ideas in engine.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a passion for driving features forward.
