Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and innovative English Teacher to join our team at a secondary school in Suffolk. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons to students, assessing their progress, and providing constructive feedback to help them grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of students, focusing on the KS3 and KS4 English Language curriculum.
  • Maintain a well-organized and professional classroom environment, ensuring that resources are readily available for students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide targeted feedback to support their growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in English Language teaching.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid QTS or equivalent qualification.
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as an English Teacher at a secondary school level.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behavior management skills.
  • Possess a relevant English-related degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is desirable.
