We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Wilmslow.

This is a full-time role that begins immediately and runs through the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance.

The successful candidate will be working closely with students on a one-to-one or small-group basis to build confidence, promote positive behaviors, and enhance learning strategies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEN or SEMH needs by providing individualized attention and developing tailored learning plans.
  • Use psychological principles to assist in behavior management and reinforce positive interactions.
  • Help students understand and apply classroom content, offering practical study strategies and breaking down complex material to foster learning independence.
  • Monitor and report student progress, sharing insights with the teaching team to support targeted interventions.
  • Engage with students in a way that promotes well-being, addressing individual social and emotional needs through supportive conversations and activities.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and focused learning environment, supporting the classroom teacher as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in psychology or a related field and have a keen interest in applying psychological insights in educational settings. They should be passionate about education, eager to contribute positively to students' academic and personal growth, and committed to safeguarding policies.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Pay: £21,000 - £25,500 per annum (equivalent to £419.25 - £500 per week)
  • Contract: Temporary through the academic year, with potential for permanency based on performance
