About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and creative Educational Support Specialist to join our Supported Internship programme in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering the educational element of the programme, working closely with colleagues to support young people with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, and/or autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons, utilizing innovative approaches to meet the diverse needs of our learners.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including skills coaches, employer engagement officers, programme coordinators, and welfare officers, to provide comprehensive support to our learners.
  • Focus on delivering the educational element of the Supported Internship programme, with a minimum of one full day of planning and administrative time per week to ensure effective programme delivery.
Requirements
  • Passion for supporting the progress of individuals with learning disabilities and/or learning difficulties.
  • Experience of supporting and/or mentoring others, with a strong emphasis on building positive relationships.
  • Experience of working with small groups, with a focus on creating inclusive and supportive learning environments.
  • A-C/9-4 English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent), demonstrating a strong foundation in core subjects.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of working with diverse groups, with a focus on promoting equality and inclusion.
  • Qualifications in education or teaching (DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd), with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality educational programmes.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering and assessing functional skills in English and Maths up to Level 2, with a focus on supporting learners to achieve their full potential.
  • Experience and knowledge of safeguarding, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Classroom management skills and strategies, with a focus on promoting positive behavior and reducing conflict.
