About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Care Team Leader to join our team at Swanton Care & Community Ltd. As a Care Team Leader, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day management of our residential care home, supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the highest standard of care for our residents.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in leading the day-to-day management of the care home
  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower your team in supporting residents to achieve their goals and aspirations
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality care and promoting a positive and supportive team culture
  • Coordinate the shift, allocating child supervision and prioritizing care
  • Act as a role model, promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment for all residents and staff
  • Take overall responsibility for ensuring the running of the home is to its highest possible standard
  • Act accountable as a resource and role model for junior staff and residents
  • Develop skills to meet the individual health, social, emotional, and psychological development needs of residents
  • Provide support, advice, and information to residents, parents, and other carers as required
  • Implement and use appropriate methods of communication to provide consistency, structure, and predictability, encouraging positive engagement

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in childcare or social work
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Knowledge of current legislation and policies related to childcare
  • Ability to coordinate a shift and prioritize care needs
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as a team member
  • Positive approach to behaviors that could present challenges
  • Driver of minibus
