About the Role

The Development Manager will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Premier League and Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Community Fund, working closely with the Community and Workforce Development team to drive positive outcomes for communities across the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management and development: ensuring that Premier League and PFA Community Fund projects are effective, provide value for money, and are delivered in accordance with minimum operating standards and contractual obligations.
  • Grant monitoring and evaluation: assessing project applications and grant monitoring reports, using performance data and qualitative information to inform future delivery.
  • CCO support and development: liaising with Community and Workforce Development (CCO) staff to provide support, guidance, and training as required.
  • Events and conferences: working with the Learning and Events Manager to support the planning and delivery of conferences and events, including the Premier League Charitable Fund's Training and Development courses.

Requirements

  • Strong project management, planning, and organisational skills, including the ability to engage with a complex network of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, make sound judgement calls, and solve problems at pace.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Experience of grant-making processes, including approaches to monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
  • Understanding of the sport and community development sector, including policy, initiatives, and legislation relevant to the Premier League and PFA Community Fund.
