Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our client, a well-established company based in West Bromwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Mechanical and Civil Engineering departments, overseeing a team of 25 staff and additional contractors when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Mechanical Maintenance department and manage Mechanical Project Engineering, ensuring efficient operations within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Utilise Computerised Maintenance Management Systems to optimise processes.
- Maintain and promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all installations and maintenance activities adhere to the highest safety standards and comply with all legal, statutory, and company requirements.
- Liaise effectively across all levels of the company, as well as with external contacts such as suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies (e.g. HSE and insurance inspectors).
Requirements:
- A minimum of an HNC in Mechanical Engineering (a degree in Mechanical Engineering would be desirable).
- At least 10 years' experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within an industrial manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong personnel management skills and excellent computer skills are essential.
- Experience in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and the flexibility to adapt to changing operational priorities.
Benefits:
- Excellent salary of up to £60,000 (negotiable).
- 25 days' holiday plus all UK bank holidays.
- 40-hour working week (Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm).
