The Role - Shopify Front End Developer

We are partnering exclusively with a rapidly growing digital agency in Leeds to find a talented Front End Developer to join their dynamic Shopify development team.

As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering market-leading e-commerce solutions to retail clients across Europe. Your expertise in technical and marketing strategies will contribute to maximizing client return on investment.

We are seeking individuals with a range of experience levels for this role. The ideal candidate possesses the right attitude: a team player, a strong problem solver, meticulous attention to detail, and a genuine desire to learn and grow within a challenging and rewarding environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance in-house Shopify themes and extensions (e.g., Checkout Validation, Custom Discounts).
  • Continuously improve website performance and accessibility.
  • Clearly document and educate stakeholders on new features or platform changes.
  • Assess the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs within Shopify.
  • Foster harmonious collaboration both internally and externally.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify technologies and tools.

About You:

You possess a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You embrace best practices for SEO and have a good grasp of package management (npm) and build tools (gulp). Experience with React and TypeScript is highly advantageous.

Bonus Skills:

  • Confidently utilize Shopify's Admin and Storefront APIs (GraphQL, REST).
  • Exposure to custom Shopify App development and Shopify's Polaris.
  • Experience with Figma.
  • Familiarity with command-line tools, specifically the Shopify CLI.
  • Commercial experience with Shopify Liquid.
  • A history of championing coding standards.
  • Experience with legacy JS libraries.

The Package:

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
