About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join our team of experienced practitioners working in the university's Therapeutic Service. This is a great opportunity to work in an established, respected, and well-used service which is part of the Student Support and Safeguarding Department.

The role offers a range of theoretical orientations, including psychodynamic, solution focussed, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, providing free and confidential brief counselling interventions for students studying at the university and on placement.

About You

You must have completed a post-graduate level counselling qualification and hold current professional registration accreditation with one of the following bodies: BACP, UKCP, BABCP, BCP, or as a clinical or counselling psychologist with BPS.

You must also have demonstrable post-qualification experience of delivering time-limited interventions to clients experiencing a range of presenting difficulties, including working with complex trauma.

Key skills and experience required include:

  • Post-graduate level counselling qualification
  • Current professional registration accreditation with relevant body
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience of delivering time-limited interventions to clients experiencing complex trauma
