Job Title: Rehab Assistant (Acquired Brain Injury)

Rate of Pay: £14.22 - £15.72 per hour dependent on experience

Hours of Work: Core Shifts - Variable Hours contract with 27.5hrs pw minimum - up to 40 hours pw

Additional hours to be agreed, in advance, between employer and employee.

About the Job:
**Key accountabilities**:
**Client Support**:
Provide direct assistance and support to the client in their daily activities, such as personal care, mobility, and therapeutic exercises.

Assist client with cognitive rehabilitation exercises, memory aids, and other strategies to improve cognitive functioning.

Support client in their social interactions, facilitating community integration and participation in recreational activities.

Monitor and document clients' progress, observations, and any changes in their condition, reporting to the multidisciplinary team.

**Collaborative Teamwork**:
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and psychologists, to implement individualized treatment plans.

Participate in team meetings and contribute insights and observations regarding clients' progress, challenges, and potential adjustments to the rehabilitation plan.

Assist in coordinating and scheduling appointments, therapies, and activities for client, ensuring a smooth and efficient rehabilitation process.

**Emotional Support**:
Provide emotional support and encouragement to client and their families, helping them cope with the challenges and adjustments associated with ABI.

Foster a positive and compassionate environment, actively listening to client’s concerns and addressing them sensitively.Promote and facilitate client and family education, providing information on ABI, rehabilitation strategies, and community resources.

Exhibits excellent organizational skills, efficiently managing tasks, appointments, and documentation.

Demonstrates positive outcomes in client’s functional independence and achievement of rehabilitation goals.

Receives positive feedback from client, families, and the multidisciplinary team regarding communication, support, and quality of care.

Maintains accurate and timely documentation of client’s progress, observations, and interventions.

Exhibits strong teamwork skills, actively participating in team meetings and contributing to the development and refinement of treatment plans.

**Technical Skills and Qualifications**

Relevant educational background, such as a diploma or degree in healthcare or a related field.

Previous experience working with individuals with acquired brain injuries or in a neurological rehabilitation setting is preferred.

Basic knowledge of brain anatomy, common consequences of ABI, and rehabilitation principles.

Familiarity with therapeutic techniques and strategies used in ABI rehabilitation.

Proficient computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.

Valid First Aid, CRB clearance and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Other: You must possess a clean, full UK Drivers License. The role may involve limited international travel
