Senior Health and Safety Advisor

Gateshead | £55,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

Irwin & Colton has been engaged by a high-profile Tier 1 contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor within their infrastructure division. The role is focused on ensuring the safe delivery of major capital works projects within the water utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations to identify areas for improvement in health and safety performance
  • Staying up-to-date with key changes to legislation and ensuring the organisation remains compliant
  • Engaging with managers, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are met
  • Collaborating with staff and contractors on health and safety performance on a day-to-day basis to support the delivery of objectives and targets

Requirements:

  • A NEBOSH Certificate and ideally Tech IOSH status
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within utilities (preferably water) or in civil engineering
