About the Role

We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join our team as a Second in Charge. As a key member of our education and training team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the school's English curriculum and driving excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Subject Coordinator and assist in leading the creation of outstanding provisions within the subject area.
  • Champion student progress and be accountable for student development across KS3, KS4, and post-16.
  • Enhance teaching standards by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and implementing innovative strategies and practices.
  • Develop and implement the school's curriculum, ensuring it is broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated.
  • Lead literacy initiatives and promote a love for reading and writing across all subject areas.

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Have a minimum of one year's teaching experience.
  • Be eager to embrace coaching as a model for ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to identify and implement strategies that raise standards of teaching and learning.
