Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Scotland is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. Our organisation delivers acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when including our regional and national services.

The part-time position for this role has a Monday to Friday shift pattern, with the salary being pro rata for the hours worked.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Tier 4 CAMHS service, where we are seeking candidates with a broad range of paediatric clinical experience and an understanding of the relationship between speech, language, and communication differences and mental health.

We are looking for a candidate to work in the National Child Psychiatry Inpatient Unit within a multi-disciplinary framework with professionals from various disciplines and multi-agency working. A key component of the role is to facilitate access to mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for young people impacted by speech, language, or communication differences.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive team, with clinical supervision, caseload/workload management, and mentoring being integral to our team. We value the professional development of our staff and offer opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and experience, including full induction and shadowing opportunities.

To be eligible for this role, you will require a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and current HCPC registration.

NHS Scotland encourages applications from all sections of the community and promotes a culture of inclusion across the organisation. We support applications from the Armed Forces Community, recognising military skills, experience, and qualifications during the recruitment and selection process.

As an employer, NHS Scotland has pledged its commitment to being a Forces Friendly Employer and supports applications from across the Armed Forces Community.

With the reduction in working hours from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for full-time staff from 1 April 2024, and the subsequent pro rata reduction for part-time staff, this role reflects the new working hours. However, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, which will be paid.

Candidates are required to provide original and authentic responses to all questions within the application form, without the use of artificial intelligence or automated tools to generate or modify responses.

Estimated salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
