Learning Support Assistant Specialist

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to students with learning difficulties and disabilities, emotional and behavioural needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing learning mentor support to students with learning difficulties and disabilities, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Assisting in the implementation of detailed assessments and monitoring and review of support strategies.
- Liaising with teaching staff and departmental managers to ensure student needs are met.
- Participating in continuous professional development and training to enhance personal growth and work performance.
Accountabilities:
- Escorting and assisting students with mobility difficulties, including those with personal care needs.
- Accompanying students on curriculum-related visits and supporting their transition into and progression at the program's end.
- Relaying student concerns and issues to teaching staff and departmental managers.
- Supporting students with detailed individual assessments and devising support strategies with senior departmental staff.
General:
- Understanding and adhering to college Health and Safety policies and guidelines.
- Undertaking other duties as reasonably required.
- Traveling to other locations to attend meetings and collaborate with teams.
- Taking responsibility for PREVENT and the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and/or vulnerable adults.
