Strategic Role for a Senior Business Development Director

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Director to lead the growth of our ESG Private Markets business in the UK, Ireland, and Channel Islands.

This is a strategic role that involves driving new business development initiatives, originating high-quality client relationships, and increasing revenue for our ESG businesses.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, familiarity with ESG topics, and a proven track record in business development. They will be responsible for developing and managing a strong network of clients and intermediaries, building and progressing a pipeline of new business opportunities, and collaborating with colleagues globally to achieve business objectives.

In this role, you will also advise on strategic initiatives such as product development, coach and develop sales and support professionals, and follow internal sales and non-sales processes and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive new client acquisitions and increase revenue in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Channel Islands
  • Achieve commercial targets by implementing new business development initiatives
  • Grow the business brand and reputation across the region
  • Develop and manage a strong network of clients and intermediaries
  • Build, manage, and progress a pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally to achieve business objectives
  • Advise on strategic initiatives such as product development
  • Coach, develop, and motivate sales and support professionals

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in financial services and/or sustainability space
  • 5+ years of business development experience
  • A strong existing network of clients and intermediaries
  • Knowledge of financial markets and asset management
  • Proven experience working with senior figures in the development of client relationships
  • Experience with CRM systems and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, be a fast learner, and demonstrate strong professional business judgment

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience
