The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the University Hospital Hairmyres acute stroke service for an Assistant Practitioner to provide ongoing rehabilitation to patients while in hospital and supporting efficient discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
  • Undertaking baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service.
  • Implementing, adapting and progressing treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
  • Using specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient-centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings.
  • Discharging or transitioning care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
